future witchcraft
A form-morphing group exploring new rituals and ways of being together.
Future Witchcraft is an experimental collective first gathered in May 2017 during a prison residency in Denmark. The project researches (new) forms of rituals and ways of being together, questioning established modes of social interaction and performance.
Initially conceived as a quartet, the project evolved organically. After the Denmark residency, Future Witchcraft grew into an 18-headed ensemble for a research presentation at Volksbühne Berlin in late June. The collective continued to develop through an open-for-your-proposals-installation at HZT Berlin and a one-week workshop at betOnest Artist Residency.
Collaborators: Pia Achternkamp, Josephine Witt und Flupsi
The project exemplifies Judith Förster's interest in collective practices and the creation of new performative formats that challenge conventional audience-performer relationships.
